Holding the Conference to Commemorate the World Hereditary Angioedema Day at the Research Center for Immunology, Asthma, and Allergy

The Institute for Supporting Patients with Immune System Deficiencies, in collaboration with the Research Center for Immunology, Asthma, and Allergy, held a conference to commemorate World Hereditary Angioedema Day for patients and their families.

A conference was held on May 14 at the Research Center for Immunology, Asthma, and Allergy in Tehran to commemorate World Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) Day, organized in collaboration with the Institute for Supporting Patients with Immune System Deficiencies. The event was conducted both in person and virtually.

Marzieh Salek, CEO of the Institute, highlighted the global significance of HAE Day, its 14-year history, and Iran’s five years of active participation—initially focusing on doctors and more recently on patients. She also reviewed the Institute’s educational and outreach efforts.

The conference featured expert talks by:

  • Dr. Mohammadreza Fazlellahi on HAE diagnosis and treatment,
  • Dr. Zahra Alizadeh on the genetic role in managing HAE,
  • Dr. Parichehr Bahraini on HAE pharmacotherapy.

A patient also shared personal strategies for living well with the condition. The event concluded with a Q&A session.
