Gene Therapy Laboratory

Research

The Gene Therapy Laboratory was established in 2018 with the objective of employing innovative treatment techniques for patients suffering from primary immunodeficiency. Initially, the laboratory focused on cell engineering and gene editing initiatives aimed at correcting the mutations found in SCID patients through the application of the CRISPR system. At present, the laboratory is engaged in two gene therapy projects and one project dedicated to T-lymphocyte engineering.
