World Hereditary Angioedema Day Commemorated at IAARI

IAARI organized a webinar to commemorate the World Hereditary Angioedema Day (HAE Day) on May 15, 2023. The webinar featured speeches from professors of clinical immunology and allergy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Iran University of Medical Sciences

The speakers of the webinar included Dr. Masoud Movahedi, Dr. Mohammadreza Fazlollahi, Dr. Mohammad Nabavi, Dr. Maryam Mahlouji, Dr. Arash Kalantari, Dr. Leila Moradi, Dr. Anahita Razaghian: clinical allergist/immunologist and, Dr. Shahram Bagheri Hariri: emergency medicine specialist, Dr. Shiva Saghaei: PhD in immunology, and Dr. Zahra Alizadeh: PhD in biomedical sciences.

The topics of the webinar covered the general aspects, diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, and recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE), a rare genetic disease that causes severe edema in different parts of the body.

The webinar was attended by about 140 to 150 participants from various specialties related to immunology and allergy and lasted four hours. The speakers answered the participants' questions at the end of the webinar.
